CORRECT OPERATION

The voltage regulator is working if your dashboard voltmeter reads 12-14 volts. However, because the electrical output from the alternator is set for driving speed, the charge may be insufficient during idle if demanding electrical accessories are used (e.g., fan blower and headlights). As a result, some battery drain may occur, but this is normal. The battery will be recharged when the car is driven at highway speed.
